To continue to provide you with our global services, Maersk is adjusting the charging of the peak season surcharge (PSS) from China/Hong Kong China to Senegal, with an effective date of December 16th, 2024. The details of the standards are as the following:
According to the announcement, the adjusted tariff amounts are: For goods shipped from China/Hong Kong, China to Senegal, whether it is a 20’ general dry cargo container (ALL 20) or a 40’ general dry cargo container (ALL 40), the surcharge are USD 3,500;
For a 45’ high dry cargo container (45HDRY), the surcharge is USD 3,450; for a 20OT container (ALL 20 REEF) and a 40OT container (ALL 40 REEF), the surcharges are USD 3,500 and USD 3,450 respectively. All fees are calculated in US dollars.
CMA charges a Panama Canal surcharge from the Far East to the US East Coast.
The Panama Canal Authority has launched a new booking reservation system - the Long-Term Slot Allocation (LoTSA) - to manage canal crossing reservations. This system will take effect on January 1st, 2025, resulting in a significant increase in CMA CGM's operating costs.
To take back this additional cost and continue to provide you with the most reliable Panama Canal transit service, CMA CGM will charge a Panama Canal transit surcharge on the following routes from January 1st, 2025:
Origin: Far East (including the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia), excluding Taiwan, China.
Via: Panama Canal
Destination: US East Coast and US Gulf

HMM charges a peak season surcharge (PEK) for all origins to the US, Canada, and Mexico.
